Greetings Indiana seniors, and welcome! If you’re looking for a 2017 Medicare Advantage Plan for Indiana seniors with Medicare, you’re in the right place. An Advantage Plan is an approved HMO or PPO healthcare plan that you can elect to replace your Original Medicare private-fee-for-service benefits. They are designed to save you money and reduce your financial risk.
Locate and click on your Indiana county to compare plans. Not all counties have the same plans available, and some rural counties may not offer Medicare Advantage. It’s all based on the adequate availability of healthcare provider networks.

Medigap & Medicare Part D vs. Medicare Advantage: Best Indiana Full-Coveral Health Insurance
A Medicare Advantage plan is one option for full coverage health insurance, but you have a second option that works with your Original Medicare. You can keep your Part A and Part B coverage and supplement it with a Medigap policy and a Medicare Part D Prescription Drug Plan. If you’re not familiar with Medigap policies in Indiana, and how they pay your deductibles, co-insurances and co-pays, read our Medicare Supplement page. All Medigap plans available in Indiana are standardized. That means a Plan F, as an example, has the same benefits from every company that sells it. The only difference is the monthly premium
Indiana Medicare Advantage Enrollment Options
In general, there are two times that you can enroll in a Indiana Medicare Advantage plan that’s available in your county. The first time you can enroll is during your Initial Enrollment Period (IEP). For most people, your IEP happens when you turn 65. After that, you enroll in an MA plan during open enrollment, called the Annual Election Period (AEP). During AEP, which starts every year on October 1st and ends on December 7th, you can enroll, dis-enroll or change plans.
Are you ready to enroll, but you’re not quite sure how? No problem, it’s easy! Most Indiana seniors use an independent Medicare insurance agent to walk them through the whole process. Your agent is well versed in all of the plans available in your county, and they will help you compare plan features without trying to sell you on one plan or another. In fact, by law agents are required to follow strict selling and marketing guidelines. It’s all for your protection. If you’d rather not use a local agent, you can go directly to Medicare.gov.
