Maximum Out-of-Pocket (MOOP) Expense
By law, private Medicare health insurance has an annual maximum out-of-pocket (MOOP) limit that helps protect you from financial disaster. The MOOP limit in 2018 is $6,700, but plans are allowed to have a MOOP as low as $3,400.
The most you will pay out-of-pocket, if you enroll in the Absolute Total Care Medicare Advantage plan, is N/A. This figure does not include your monthly premiums or your Medicare Part D coverage for prescriptions. This is what you pay out-of-pocket on co-payments and co-insurance.Be sure to compare the co-payments and co-insurance with traditional Medicare, but be aware that there are no out-of-pocket limits with Medicare Parts A and B. With Original Medicare you must buy supplemental insurance to cover the gaps or pay out-of-pocket.
CMS 5-Star Rating
After its first year on the market, each Medicare Advantage plan receives a one to five star rating from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). The relative quality assessment of health insurance by CMS assists people who are considering enrollment. Plans with five stars represent the highest quality, whereas a one star plan has the worst quality.
The Absolute Total Care Medicare Advantage plan is new and has not yet been rated by CMS. This is why the plan's rating is listed as out of 5 stars (as of 15 October, 2015).
